University accommodation
What accommodation is available for university students?
Students who require university accommodation are usually able to live in college halls of residence during their first year and often their last year, but are required to find their own accommodation in between. Not all college accommodation is on or near the main university campus. It is important to do your research before applying.
Costs will vary according to the catering arrangements and the quality and size of the rooms, etc, as well as the part of the country where the university is situated, London being the most expensive.
The university’s accommodation office will have full information available for prospective students and will be able to give direction to those wishing to rent accommodation locally if/when they are no longer eligible to live in halls. The Student Union will also be ready to advise on the pitfalls to avoid when seeking off-site accommodation.
